Then determine whether the patient is unstable, because instability often changes the correct sequence. Use this four-step workflow: 1. Identify the syndrome and acuity. 2. Extract the discriminating clue. 3. Predict the answer before reading the options. 4. Choose the option that best addresses the question at that moment. For procedural topics, learn indications, contraindications, landmarks, sequence, confirmation, and complications. The QE tests knowledge about procedures; it does not assess physical performance like the separate Certifying Exam that replaced the former Oral Exam in 2026.
